Yep, I should probably stop pretending I'm not doing anything here and think a little more about, I dunno, posting again! The itch is back and it's time to scratch!

According to my figures it's been almost a year since I last posted here. That's, depressing actually. I seem to have been thinking about the site recently, and at the weekend I actually started rebuilding it. Now I should just 'fess up and post something again.

What's the state of the website I hear you ask? Well the blog content (wibble) has been migrated to the new CMS. I decided the sanest way to deal with comment spam is to make people authenticate someway first; that's possible through Facebook (apparently, not actually tested that) and OpenID (which opens up the world of LiveJournal) and anyone who strongly objects to any of those is welcome to nudge me about alternatives. I will add more, it's just I figure between LiveJournal and Facebook I have about 95% of real people able to login and comment.

The other site content will slowly migrate to the new system but it will have to be a manual task. For now I'm trying to make sure the bugs are under control (shout if you find one) and I'm working on a theme, the beginnings of which you can see here now. Again, you're welcome to send suggestions and ideas over providing you're happy to accept that I might ignore them.

So the future should (hopefully) hold many bright options and I'll be more motivated to update again. I'm planning to use some of the new shiny tools I have to make my world a little saner again - although I'll try to pretend I didn't spend the weeks before Christmas fixing up something I'm now replacing because then I may realise I'm an idiot.
