With the World Cup raging and mass confusion across England as to which team everyone supports some people have taken to attaching little St. George's Cross flags to their cars. Sure, the increased drag of driving around with those flags does make your car on average 9% less fuel efficient for each flag you proudly flutter but it's better than being mistaken for one of those England hating terrorists who deserve to die so we can get more oil.

Unfortunately I'm picking up a subtle clue that maybe the flag manufacturers didn't expect England to do very well. With the group stages only just finished and the weaker teams now eliminated England will soon take the pitch in their first knock-out game. Driving around town this morning revealed many England flags have already snapped off the cars. It looks like these patriotic flag making companies decided to cut costs - why bother making a flag that can last the whole three weeks when they think England won't last two?
