Not only does Maxine Carr believe that she ended [Huntley's] life of hurting others but she's also quite angry that the police have dragged her name through the mud. Obviously those months of lies she told the police actually helped them discover the truth. The grief she expressed in the various interviews she gave before her arrest were secret coded messages that revealed the entire truth. If only the police would be grateful! Maybe I'm struggling to appreciate exactly how someone who perverts the course of justice can believe that helps the police make an arrest.
